For a long time, there has been a lot of buzz regarding Apple's upcoming AR/VR headset. It originally emerged in 2017, and a few patents have since leaked, revealing the design of this claimed AR/VR headgear. A trademark file for'realityOS,' allegedly the name of the operating system for the impending AR/VR headset, has been spotted a week ahead of the WWDC.

The trademark registrations for'realityOS' were discovered by Twitter user Parker Ortolani, who uploaded images of two distinct trademark filings with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on December 8, 2021. One of the documents indicates a "international filing date" of June 8, two days after the WWDC keynote, which appears to be more than a coincidence, given that Apple often files trademarks for its products a day or two after the speech, according to Parker.

Furthermore, the registration was submitted by a firm called "Realityo Systems LLC," which uses the same corporate address as Apple for past macOS trademark filings. What's more intriguing is that, except from the'realityOS' trademark registration, there is no information about the firm or its goods on the internet.

Earlier this year, the App Store records revealed references to'realityOS' as 'rOS,' an abbreviation for realityOS. Bloomberg originally reported on the existence of an operating system for Apple's headgear, codenamed rOS, in 2017. According to a recent Bloomberg article, Apple showed the headgear to its board of directors.

We don't know if Apple will show off their AR/VR headset at WWDC, but we may expect some big news concerning the rumored'realityOS.' There's a potential that Apple may offer developers early access to the headgear or the "realityOS" before it is released.
